A 'Lil about MeWell, first of all, my name is Cody Erickson. I am currently a student of photography at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, WA. I am 21 years old and orginally from Bemidji, MN (ya, for sure, ya betcha). I enjoy hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, reading, scrapbooking, writing, and MANY other things (oh yes...and let's not forget photography)! |

Photography became my passion my first year out of high school. The first experience I can remember was one morning when I was on my run before school. As I jogged by this small, chilled pond, I could see the way the fog crept across the water as if sneaking up on an old, well used boat sitting every so perfectly on the shore. I started seeing the way light illuminated certain objects and was simply captivated by the scene. I had to capture it. Of course...things in that case never turn out as hoped and hardly ever hold the same feeling of awe and splendor as the original moment, but it was the essence for me...it was the creation of my first passion/hobby! Ever since, I have been photographing on the side. I pull my car over on road trips and take photos of sites that catch my eye, or at times I simply go for a hike with my camera to see what I can muster up :) After a couple of years, I realized that I could make my passion my career as well, so I enrolled at SFCC in the Fall of 2007. It's been a great experience so far! I've learned all kinds of new techniques and various ways of doing things! I've been stretched and will continue to be stretched, which is what makes us all grow. The course is allowing me to establish my direction within photography and find my niche. My main objective in photography is to create visual art--photographs that catch people's eye and make them appreciate the emotion or simply the apealing visual composition. Although I enjoy all aspects of photography, I think I find the abstract to be my favorite. I enjoy puzzles, so when I get to see an image and ponder upon what it is, it amuses me :) Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed reading a little about me, and I hope you enjoy my site that I've put together. Feel free to contact me with any comments, suggestions, or desires for business or purchases! Have an amazing day and may God bless you! ~Cody Erickson |
